BTWC are pleased to announce our new partnership with leading Funeral Plan provider, Golden Leaves.

Since pre-paid funeral planning was introduced to the UK in 1984, Golden Leaves Ltd have been at the forefront of providers. They were founding members of The National Association for Pre-paid Funeral Plans and The Funeral Planning Authority (FPA) which monitors the marketing, financial and service provisions of the plan providers that it regulates. They are also members of NAFD (National Association of Funeral Directors) and SAIF (Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors).

Golden Leaves are regulated by the FPA, which scrutinises their financial and operational activities on an annual basis, ensuring the highest in standards for customers.

As a sector that is heading towards FCA regulation, Golden Leaves are a company who provide stellar customer service with a robust compliance strategy, and that commitment aligns itself with the BTWC standards of service and expectation of our partners.

Funeral Planning is not always an easy subject to raise with clients, but as part of any review it should be on one of the topics to be discussed, particularly if there is also a discussion to be had about Wills. Planning for the future for funerals will make it so much easier both financially and emotionally for the family members left behind. The certainty of knowing that everything is catered for helps alleviate a lot of stress.

Through Golden Leaves our members are able to provide clients with:

  • Fully guaranteed cremation funeral plans
  • Fixed Monthly Payment option has a 12 month moratorium and includes accidental death cover in first 12 months
  • The industry’s only fully environmentally friendly and “off the shelf” Green funeral plan
  • A large network of funeral directors with an auto allocation process that guarantees our price plans and speeds up the processing times
  • Strong performance from an established Trust Fund
  • Regulated by the FPA
  • Competitive and market-leading plans

With funeral costs rising far in excess of the annual rate of inflation, it is an unfortunate fact that for many families budgeting for a funeral by traditional means may no longer be sufficient to cover the cost.

According to the Sun Life Cost of Dying Report 2016, average funeral costs have almost doubled over the last 10 years rising from just over £2,000 in 2006 to almost £4,000 in 2016. The report also predicts that by 2021, the cost of an average standard funeral will be in the region of £5,400.

A prepaid funeral plan is an affordable solution to help remove the financial burden of rising funeral costs from loved ones in the event of the death of a loved one. This is a valuable service you are now able to provide (via us as a BTWC Associate) with one of the longest established funeral plan providers in the market.

We have partnered with Golden Leaves so our members can provide a market leading product and service to their clients and benefit from a top rate commission with all plans introduced via BTWC.

Amy Peters, Operational Director of BTWC comments “ We’re delighted to be working with Golden Leaves to ensure our BTWC Associates can offer an FCA-ready funeral plan proposition to clients. As one of the oldest and certainly the most financially robust funeral plan providers in the UK, we are delighted that our back office support model extends to this product range. With both trust based and insurance backed options, associates can ensure the right plan is selected for the right client whilst building a valuable revenue stream for their businesses.”
