 In the  June Quarterly Workshop we will be covering:

  • Looking ahead to 2026 & How BTWC can support you and your clients - training, resources and support.
  • Lessons from Court - What we can learn from Will Disputes & how to advise clients
  • Pension Reforms 2027 - The Impact on Estate Administration

And our Guest Speaker;

  • "Lifetime Trusts Revisited: Practical Planning, Tax Realities & the Rise of Mixed and Split Trust Structures" (Dr Paul Hutchinson LLB (Hons) LLM (Wales) Ph.D FIPW ACILEX) In an increasingly complex estate planning landscape, lifetime trusts remain a powerful—but often misunderstood—tool for advisers. In this technical and practical workshop, Dr Paul Hutchinson of Hutchinson Legal will guide advisers through when and why lifetime trusts are still relevant, and where they can add genuine value to client outcomes. A key focus will be on mixed trusts and split trust approaches, examining how these structures can improve tax efficiency, preserve access to reliefs such as the nil rate band and residence nil rate band, and overcome some of the traditional limitations of fully discretionary lifetime trusts.

    This session is designed to equip advisers with a clearer, more confident understanding of:

    • When lifetime trusts are appropriate (and when they are not)
    • How modern drafting approaches, including mixed and split trusts, can enhance outcomes
    • The real IHT implications clients need to understand
    • How to position lifetime trust conversations in a compliant and client-focused way

    Ideal for advisers looking to deepen their technical knowledge while maintaining practical, client-friendly conversations, this workshop will bring clarity to an area that is often oversimplified—but critically important.

Don't forget - We will send out a PDF copy of all slides and also bonus content to everyone who registers for the event. CPD Certificates will also be provided upon request.
